In general, therapy requires effort and consistency in order to be successful. Often people report an initial decline in mood and self-esteem as they begin to work on issues and relationships. With time, as the therapeutic alliance grows stronger, clients report significant benefits such as better communication, improved relationships, better coping skills, a decrease of anxiety, and /or depression.
In the event that the client sees no significant improvement after several sessions, a conversation and review of the client’s goals will follow.  Referral to another competent professional is always a possibility.
